A software RAID storage system is unable to overcome the problems associated with cross-platform usage. It is only through hardware RAID controller chipsets that users can use these hard drives concurrently in Mac or Windows computers. With the ZR2’s built in 2 x M.2 SATA converter hardware RAID controller chipset and USB 3.2 Gen 2 host interface, it not only promise high transmission speed, but also eliminates the cross-platform usage issues associated with RAID 0 or RAID 1 setups. Also, with hardware RAID, all data is computed and processed by the built-in CPU. With such advantages, your computer performance can be focused on running the software and work, instead of handling the storage device's transmission issues.

The ZR2-B31BP has four built-in configuration modes: RAID 1 (Safe Mode), RAID 0 (Speed Mode), JBOD (Two Independent Volumes) ,and BIG Mode for you to choose according to your needs.

RAID 1 function provides fully automatic backup that ensures data security.
RAID 0 function increases storage speed and performance.
JBOD function provides two independent disk data access convenience.
BIG function provides two independent disk capacity added total.

ZR2-B31BP is equipped with RAID system and supports host computers with Type-C and Thunderbolt™ 3 (USB-C), ZR2-B31BP compatible with all USB 3.2 Gen 1,2/2.0 specifications.

Users can use the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C to C cable of ZR2-B31BP to connect to the USB Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) interface of Macbook Pro or iMac Pro, or connect to the PC or laptop with USB Type-C interface, it transfer speeds up to 10Gbps.

ZR2-B31BP is equipped with two easy-to-install M.2 SATA Converter screwless trays, that can support 2 x M.2 SATA SSD. Also, it is designed with durable aluminum casing that is not only to protect your data but also for the excellent heat dissipation.
 
Since this new easy-to-use Tray is dimensional compliant to all our Stardom products, you could easily transfer your data among different storage devices.  And also, its key lock design could provide a double protection at your data from any improper Tray extracting.

ZR2-B31BP provides the LED indicator for disk status display. When data accessing, the LED will flash light on, it allows user to understand the data access status quickly.

ZR2-B31BP is made by the durable aluminum housing and designed with the 3cm silent fan that help for the excellent heat dissipation with the long time use.

If your project files are too large to be transmitted via the internet, or you need to send the same data out for use with different devices, such as editing photo or video files up to 500G ~ 750G, the design of removable hard disk tray is perfect for your requirements. In the independent mode of ZR2-B31BP, each M.2 SATA SSD can be work independently, just like an independent database. You can qucikly change the library you need, and back up your important data offsite to meet the various needs in the different computer environments.

Since ZR2-B31BP provides USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, just use your MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt™ 3 (USB-C) interface, you could set up your own full function photo studio and could save tons of RAW images at any time. And you could edit and browse the large images database quickly when set up the RAID 0 mode. (Using SSD, the measured Write is about 824MB / Read is about 638 MB, the performance will be vary depending on the environment).

This product is capable of achieving data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps when operated on a PC running the Windows operating system. However, it should be noted that the performance is reduced to 5 Gbps when used with systems powered by the current Apple M1 or M2 processors.
