The DECKTANK Series focuses on the applications of JBOD. Although not equipped with data redundancy, the JBOD function, however, provides the flexibility of data exchangeability with not RAID limitations. With our removable hard drive design, you can simply remove a drive and have it be used on another PC with ease.

Hard drives instead of CDs for archiving.
Maybe you are fed up with burning data to a CD to backup your data. Large files mean multiple CD burning at one CD at a time speed. It’s time consuming and inefficient. With the DECKTANK Series, you’ll have ample space for storage for gigabytes and gigabytes of data instead of megabytes. Once a drive is full, simply remove the hard drive with ease, archive it then replace with a new drive. It’s a thousand times morefficient.

Great for video editing
With many videos now requiring high resolution formats, this would mean high speed storage in order to meet the requirements of video editing. Through the DECKTANK’s firewire 800 and eSATA models (reaching 100 MB/sec. speed), you can set it up to run at RAID 0 where you would be storing divided pieces of data into two drives simultaneously instead of one to increase the over all read/write performance.
