The ST8 Series is an eight drive storage solution that’s capable of supporting up to 4TB drives in each drive slot in reaching up to a total of 32TB per system enclosure.

Compact and portable too

 

Standing no more than 12 inches tall and only 5 inches wide, the ST8 Series is the market’s most compact eight drive system enclosure to fit anywhere without taking much room. For field editing applications, the ST8 can also be made portable as it comes equipped with a grip handle that you can choose to install yourself, making creative contents mobile convenient and less bulky.

 

 

 

Ruggedly built with aluminum cooling


The ST8 is built tough with all aluminum surroundings to protect the enclosed drives, but when in operation, cools the system faster! Moreover, the system is equipped with 2 large quiet fans for continuous drawing away heat from the inside of the system for you drive to run comfortably.


Integrated SATA Port Multiplication


The ST8-S3P model (see spec.) integrates 2 sets of eSATA port multiplier connecting up to 4 drives each with one single eSATA cable to see and work each drives independently, effectively reducing messy and inconvenient cabling. Two cables are all that’s required !

Available in eSATA or mini-SAS


The ST8 Series is available in eSATA ( 6G ) version or mini-SAS for the best output in performance. The SAS version is capable of accepting either SAS or SATA hard drives for the most cost effective and flexible storage system to own.

Secure with confidence, remove with ease


Equipped with removable hard drive trays, installing or removing a drive would be absolutely hassle-free. There are no extra wires to attach, simply insert the drive to the designated slot and go! Each drive tray is also equipped with a locking mechanism to secure the drive into place to keep the drives and data safe.

Application

When used with the ATTO R680 PCIe x8 RAID controller a ST8-U5 with eight 7200 RPM, SATA II drives in RAID 5 protected mode achieves close to 1000MB/sec performance and supports two simultaneous streams of uncompressed 10-bit HD or a single 2K DPX sequence.
